Get free google wave invites

by Mayank on October 1, 2009

in Google, Internet

wave-logoYesterday, Google released 100,000 invites for its super hyped new product,  the Google Wave. I was also one of the lucky ones to get an invite.

But if you were not as lucky as me and other  99,999 people, you can still get your Google Wave invite.

I am giving away 3 Google Wave invites for free in this blog contest! (I wont spare more as I have already given away 4/8 invites on twitter, one invite I will keep in reserve for myself)

All you have to do to get your free google wave invite is:

1. Subscribe to this blog via email.

Enter your email address:

2. Follow me (@knayam) on twitter and RT this

RT @knayam RT @tweetmeme Free Google Wave invites blog giveaway — Tech-On-Line http://su.pr/1YTEpr Plz RT #TOL #GoogleWave

3. Tell me why do you want a Google Wave invite by leaving a comment here.

I will nominate the winner’s email ids for a google wave invite and they will be sent invites by google on a preferential basis the next time they decide to add more users.

The 3 best answers to the #3 will win one free google wave invite each! So try to be funny, creative, dramatic or whatever you may fancy!

Contest will close on 20 October and winners will be announced the next day.

Good luck!

(Note: Your subscription email and comment email should be same. Invite will be sent to that email only. Please mention your twitter handle in the comments so that I can verify if you are really following me or not)

(EDIT: My friend on twitter @KunalGautam has just confirmed that he will also giveaway whatever invites he is left with after inviting 5 people, so more invites might be added to this contest soon.)

If you liked this post, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed or get latest updates via email. Thanks for visiting!

Well, I want a Google Wave invite because…

1. This is a redundant reason but I decided to add it in because it is funny. To me, at least. LOL. Ops sorry.
2. A twave to me is a tidal wave in twitter but this has nothing to do with why I want an invite so redundant x2.
3. Google Wave is better than MSN and I want to prove to my friends that yes it is better.
4. 20th October has still a looooooooooooooooooong way to go. Maybe I can brush up on my Wave knowledge by then, and I shall be teh 1337geniusoftehsentury! Maybe not.
5. You should totally invite me so that you would get more contacts to add in Wave, and therefore leading to us chatting till 12am in the midnight.
6. You have 3 invitations so therefore one should be used on me. WAHAHAHAHA. *manipulates*
7. I just hope Google is still sending out the waves. *Prays*
8. Even if I am not online and you are not online we can still chat, just like email! Wahahhahaah. And we can edit our messages heehee.
9. We can play chess till midnight together! *winks*
10. The person most obsessed with Wave is probably me, me, and me. Hmm, true.
11. I am a robot, phear me or I will use my 1337 powas to …..
12. Well, I really want to try out Google Wave, and this I hope is one of my most legitimate reasons. Though I know Google would probably spam my emails with survey forms and “What do you think?” mails, I will still answer them knowing that I am sooo fortunate to be able to test this thing out.
14. Did you see that I missed out on reason 13? Well you are probably checking now!
15. I like blogging too, just like you! So we could share ideas, you know? *hints*
16. Since you would probably have about 14 contacts on Wave if you didn’t invite me, your 15th contact would be me! *hints x2*
17. I cannot believe I am already so far in my reasoning even though some reasons are just plain stupid. But still, I want to try out Google Wave.
18. Tried composing a song for this. Song too long and too complex. It cannot be done without Wave! *hums Starstrukk*
19. We are both twitterers! And yes we can use the tweety robot in Wave to tweet!
20. This would be my final reason as I know I am long-winded and therefore Google Wave is for the long-winded people like me. Well, 50% of the people using wave right now are probably long-winded. D: I sometimes take one point and elaborate on it knowing I should summarise it. ):
21. Hah! I wanna stop at 21 because this is my favourite number. Anyway, if we ever use Wave together *hints*, we would tell each other what bugs are there, and what robots should we get, what gadgets should we get, and what is so great about Wave! I think I shall expand this reason as this is teh winner! Well, Google Wave is a communication tool for you and me and therefore we should be glad that you have gotten an invite and is generous enough to share it with the world! Or maybe just the interwebz.

That’s it, I’m done. My twitter username is @irjosiahhh. I followed you on two accounts because I use DestroyTwitter for irjosiahhh, the twitter web for themojojo. Haha.

Thanks for taking your time to read this, even though I know it is lame as I am the lame king!

I think we are under a huge misunderstanding here – From what I know, you will be NOMINATING the people who get an invite :) Rest is upto Google. Cheers on the blog advertising :D

@Chetan yes, I know that currently we are only nominating people so that they are sent the invites when the google decides to add more users. The users they invite will be given preference over the others. So its not blatant blog advertising. If you got an invite to wave then in the invite mail you must have noticed this:

Once you’ve signed in:

* Check out the videos and example waves
* Invite others to join you

So these users will surely get invited to google wave, though it may take some time and that is upto google. But still I will add this “nomination” thing in the post to avoid any confusion.

My plan is to ask my community of give away 3 invitations, once they got their.
I would like to start that, giving away 3 invitations.
Then, blog subscribers will fill a form to give their “promise” of sharing 3 invitations and post a comment in the blog to make that public.
I’ll collect all available invitations and contact the first available one telling him to invite the first person on the waiting list.
On that way there will be 3 invitation each time one is sent.

This is my plan to use the invitation, if I win.

The simple act of inviting someone to your blog and having them accept the invite, makes your blog a “Group Blog&quot.

I’d like a google wave invite to see what all the hype is about, and hopefully so I can get my school into the service. I’m an artist, so it’ll really help with the sharing of pictures back and forth. Dropbox was godsend already, but this would really help a lot.

First off, thanks for giving away an invite.

Now, why I want an invite. First off, I have a lot of social networks i’m on and its hard to keep track of them all at once. Also, I’m wanting to start work on a window mobile app for wave. However, I lack access to the API so I’m kinda SOL there.
